Boko Haram attacks military base again, kills many soldiers

AT least 30 Nigerian soldiers were killed in combat with Boko Haram jihadists who overran a military base in the northeast near the border with Niger, according to AFP.

The international news agency reports on Saturday that scores of jihadists in trucks stormed the base at Zari village in Borno state late Thursday and briefly seized it after a fierce battle in which 30 soldiers were killed.

The army authority has not responded to the latest report, although the army has often denied reports of soldiers being killed by the insurgents.
