Nasarawa also relocates the dethroned Emir to Awe local government

Daily Trust has reliably gathered that the government of Nasarawa has decided to relocate the deposed Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, from Loko village in Nasarawa LGA to Awe Local Government Area (LGA). Daily Trust has found that the deposed emir has been moved because Loko is a very remote area of the state.

The Emir is currently in preparation for relocation to Awe LGA is  at the Nasarawa State Government House. Originally, the deposed Emir was exiled to Opanda town in Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State. One source, who chose anonymity, said that:”Actually, the deposed emir was scheduled to be exiled from Kano to Opanda town in Toto Local Government but there was a change of decision at the last minute. Notable Nigerians like the Emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Bage (rtd) personally met Governor Abdullahi Sule and requested for a change of location. Others who called the governor were Alhaji Aliko Dangote and General Aliyu Gusau amongst others”.

The Emir’s removal

Emir Sanusi was dethroned because of disrespect to the governor’s office and other government agencies State Government Secretary Alhaji Usman Alhaji said the conduct of the emir was in breach of Kano State Law Part 3 Section A-E, hence the ban. He said the withdrawal was in line with appropriate stakeholder consultations. Emir Sanusi was taken from his palace to Nasarawa state yesterday about 4:30pm.
