A Nigerian lady sentenced to prison for drug traffiking in India

Joy Chika Ozuma, a Nigerian lady, was sentenced to ten years in prison by a court in Mohali, Punjab, India.In Mohali, she was found guilty of smuggling heroin.  According to Hindustan Times, the court also fined her 1 lakh about ($1,400).
If she does not pay, she will be imprisoned for another year.

Following a tip, Ozuma was apprehended by the Mohali Special Task Force (STF) near Nature Park in Phase 9 in May 2018.

Her possession of 1kg heroin was seized by the STF.

According to the allegations, the woman entered India on a business visa in 2015 and sold readymade clothing in Delhi, Noida, and Tripura, but she later began smuggling drugs to supplement her income.
