The Action Democratic Party (ADP) has presented certificate of return to Dr Julius Elukpo, its candidate for the Nov 18, Kogi governorship election.
ADP National Chairman, Mr Yabagi Sani presented the certificate at a ceremony in Abuja on.
Sani said that the occasion was continuation of the process that started on April 14 when ADP held its governorship primary election in Lokoja.
The chairman described the election as transparent, orderly, peaceful and successful.
“Elukpo is a distinguished Nigerian imbued with many parts, he is knowledgeable and willing to re-engineer Kogi State and in addition, he’s an astute politician, a man with deep passion for his people.
“He is ingenious, incorruptible, trustworthy and accommodating and through the instrumentality of Elukpo, ADP will capture power in Kogi State,” he said.
Sani described the party’s candidate as the man Kogi needed and that after the certificate presentation campaigns would commence in earnest.
He urged all ADP members in the state and across the country to support him to clinch the governorship seat for the development of the state.
Elukpo in his remarks, appreciated ADP National Executive Committee (NEC) and the entire hierarchy of the party for the opportunity given to him to fly the party’s flag.
The governorship candidate said that he had been in the struggle for the success of the state right from its inception and was willing to take up the responsibility to ensure that its lost glory was restored.
“I want to state that it is based on how my state has been run since inception that prompted me to step forward to contest for the ticket for the Nov.18 election.
“For those who don’t know, Kogi is endowed with numerous natural resources and we have to utilize these resources for the interest of the entire Nigeria not just Kogi alone.
“I have a manifesto and I have a track record of activities that I have been involved in that have been instrumental to the state and I believe I have more to do for my people and for Nigeria.
“I have worked closely with many governors and I have assisted them with so many things that I now believe will help me to lead and I’m ready and capable of delivering justice to the people,” he said.(NAN)
